A cop may be an rear end in a top hat to you or, in rare cases, kill you, but DAs and AGs have a lot more power to make poo poo worse or better for thousands or millions of people. Some will point out that it was much tougher for a D woman to succeed professionally if perceived as "soft on crime" when she was coming up professionally, but there's still more she could have done or could do now to help people who got hosed over by fraught convictions with falsified evidence or hidden exculpatory evidence.

I'm a big fan of Pete Buttigieg, who's basically a less angry, 36 year old Bernie Sanders. He's also a gay Afghanistan veteran who got elected as a mayor in Indiana. So I'm gonna vote for him probably and hope that we at least end up with someone under the age of 50.

I want Pelosi to schedule a press conference at the same time announcing a deal (70% tax on people who own golf courses to pay for the wall, complete amnesty for all illegal immigrants, and a law banning the GSA from renewing any leases on the Old Post Office), so the press is forced to split coverage.

Any vote that isn’t cast in favour of the person who has the best chances of beating Trump is a vote for Trump, basically. That person will be the dem candidate. It would be best if that person could rally as many people as possible, and that’s why people should get involved in the primaries. Once the primaries are over you should swallow your pride and vote for that person because otherwise you are essentially voting for Trump. Sorry fascism is getting in the way of your principles.

The people who didn't vote or voted third party or voted for Trump because "ugh, Hillary again" in competitive states are loving morons. There was a clearly superior choice in that first past the post election. That Trump was even remotely competitive is far more an indictment of the electorate than Clinton.

I'll bitch about it on the internet before and after, but on election day I'm pulling the lever for whomever wins the dem ticket. Just like I did in 2016 because I'm not that much of a loving moron. I just hope the primaries aren't over with by the time VA gets to vote, because that's where my ~political identity~ gets a chance.

It'd be great if the primaries flesh out and decide for a candidate we are all glad to support. No one's arguing against that right now. However, once that person is decided, for better or worse, they're not Trump and apart from maybe Tulsi I don't know that there's someone as poo poo as that on the ticket.

She lost because she underestimated the Trump and didn't energize, appealed or engaged in the democratic base. Which is why she lost in key demographic states. I have problems with Kamala but the real problem is the democrat party not learning from their mistakes, running a campaign for 2020, appealing for the moderate republicans and kicking a nascent leftist base to the side because "they are too young". The conditions that gave us Trump are not only still present, they're getting worse. You can either elect people willing to make drastic and immediate change, or keep electing status quo candidates and then pearl clutch vecause people like Trump don't sugar coat the policies you tacitly support.

That aside, I hate the "vote for the person best able to beat trump" because it's a bullshit premise. We have no idea who's best able to beat Trump, just vote for the candidate that's supporting policies/changes you believe in and wait to make decisions based on polling.

There's multiple generations of voters whose adult life spans a period of time when republicans weren't patently disingenuous and outright evil in word and deed. They're starting to die off because the GOP has been this way for decades now but in the meantime they're going to keep on trusting Lucy not to yoink the football at the last moment.
