At the the core is the attitude that 'its not real' in the greater anime fandom. That's why its ignored so much. All the objectionable stuff like slavery and worse is being done to made up fictional characters. Its a similar attitude to violence in video games. Its not real, so it doesn't matter that I can kill whatever I want ingame.

The one think that was on my mind the whole episode is that the hero's behavior is a textbook abuse cycle.  1) What do you mean you don't want to murder the bunny? 2) Torture through a cursed mark 3) I bought you a nice meal, aren't a nice caring guy? 4) Yep everything is cool and good. 1) What do you mean you don't want to kill the big doggie? And all the defenders are commenting on how it's okay that he enslaves a traumatized child so she can be his child soldier, because he treats her well.

Kind of a tangent, but have you read about the International Red Cross' PR disaster when they tried to point this out about video games? Gamers got mad on the internet as they tend to do, but BI were the only company that bothered to respond back about how to turn it into something more engaging. They came out with a cool Laws of War DLC that went over what the Red Cross and other humanitarian agencies do during and after war, rules of engagement, and the effects on the area after a war when reconstruction is taking place. There's a certain irony is the announcement of it because there were some new vehicles and weapons... which were things like cluster bombs and UXO to demonstrate their long lasting effects and the dangers of dealing with them. Duke's daughter is good economic and nobility stuff, bakarina is silly and hilarious fluff. Another good one is my ideal lazy life, where a guy is summoned by an incredibly hot queen from another world to be her husband and give her a child. The cover even makes it look like there's a bunch of silly harem shenanigans, and the very first page is sexy fun times!!! Except it almost immediately switches to the in-depth politicking of this world where the queen is the first female ruler of her country in a basically entirely patriarchal world, and he has to learn how to properly act around nobles so as not to undermine his wife's image in the political world, while also learning customs and stuff. It eventually gets into the problems of illigetimate bloodlines, negotiations with other countries, etc. Oh, and it's totally monogamous and they're an adorable couple. It's a pretty good fakeout from the initial impression.

As an aside, reading some earlier posts about Slime, the anime skips over a lot of internal monologues for reasons stated in an earlier post, but Rimuru is VERY aware of how OP his abilities make him and it actually makes him rather uncomfortable at times such as the sword replication. A lot of character stuff got trimmed off which really does bug the crap out of me. It's not isekai, but I'll never miss a chance to talk up Undead Adventurer. It's like Dark Souls with how the lead is an undead mixed with Dragon's Crown. WanWan Monogatari is another one I've read and liked. It's about an office worker who dies and wishes to be reincarnated as a rich persons dog and gets adopted by a cute rich girl to be the family pet...Except after only a month he grows up to be the size of a small horse and is actually Fenrir and can shoot a beam from his mouth. Naturally he freaks out.
