Skyways are bad for urbanism though, it kills life at the street level. Dress properly with layering and even sub-zero temps are mostly comfortable, I walk almost everywhere in winter and it really isn't that bad.

In places like Minneapolis they're not simply a bridge between two buildings but a network of indoor corridors that let you walk all over a given area between potentially dozens of buildings.
