Literally every browser and browsing app in the modern age has an option or an extension that will allow you to stop it from automatically loading massive gifs. Instead of pissing and moaning, configure your poo poo. It sucks for people on mobile and it's very easy to a "v" to the end of a imgur url. SA will even automatically BBCODE and display the image properly if you just post the direct link to the gifv and mash the post butron. But it's also not a big deal because if I'm on mobile and your stupid 150mb gif doesn't load after a few seconds I'm moving on and not watching it.
