I'll nth the MOTYC for Andrade vs Rey Mysterio 2/3 falls match from Smackdown 1/22

I'd also like to submit an HM nod for Travis Banks vs Jordan Devlin NXT UK 1/23

Great match, certainly not MOTY quality, but probably the best I've seen Banks perform under a WWE brand, and, personally, I felt this was a better match than the Devlin/Balor match we actually got at the Takeover.

Ironically since the ending didn't affect my enjoyment of Rey/Andrade, I felt Banks/Devlin WAS let down by their ending. After the bullshit Devlin pulled before and at Takeover, I think people wanted to see a, if not definitive, at least strong ending and it hurt the match a little for me in not having it.

That's a fair take, but for my money, Banks is nowhere near the level of Devlin. And he hasn't had a whole lot of time to establish himself as a credible threat to what's got to be one of the best performers on the brand. This match did a lot to give Banks some much needed gravitas and close that gap, where once he ultimately goes over (and I'm assuming he will), it'll feel much more earned, and won't damage Devlin.

What's great about Caristico vs Volador is they both fully understand the NJPW crowd just wants to see them do crazy poo poo and doesn't really want to see them wrestle a "great match" so they just go out to do crazy poo poo at the expense of the kind of match they might do in Mexico. Not that they wouldn't do crazy poo poo, but they'd structure it more as a match. They were right it was exactly what the crowd wanted.
