It's a bunch of effects built into the Vox body. There's a tremelo, a fuzz, and a wah usually. Not sure if he actually uses any of them or if they're even in the circuit anymore - a lot got ripped out over the years for obvious reasons.

Haha, “it’s like a cellphone for your guitar”, I’d like to ask a follow up on that totally not meaningless marketing bullshit speak you were handed by your company. In what way specifically did you mean? Please follow that analogy through to its logical conclusion, whatever that might be.

Welp, looks like that thing doesn't always tune the string by going flat then tightening, so it's worthless. edit: also it seems entirely dependent on your ability to steady an arm and hand perfectly in the free air while a device you're holding is twisting something being stabilized by your other arm, which seems like one of those things that's a lot easier in theory than in practice. Yeah the idea is decent but there’s no way it’s as efficient as a polytune clip + my hands + lack of 12 string ownership. Mainly for the price.

In my quest for shimmer, I took a stab at the TC Fluorescence, since these people https://www.gear4music.com/us/en/Guitar-and-Bass/TC-Electronic-Fluorescence-Shimmer-Reverb/29GK were (are) selling it for $49 instead of £49/$80 like all the other places seem to be. It's not a very strong reverb---or a strong shimmer, at that. It sounds very nice, but I want more oomph out of it, more volume. I can dial the dry signal back and punch up the amp more, see if that makes it better, but not at quarter-to-seven in the morning. I'd really like to get the feeling of hitting the strings and having a billion crystalline celestial choruses open up. I should have been a new-age keyboardist or a roadie for enya, I know. However, for $49? loving worth it. It's bigger in real life than it seems in the photos, though. Wider and taller than your average Boss pedal. I can just sit here strumming Em and the pedal instantly makes it feel/sound like it's the back half of Welcome to the Machine and it's so loving nice. hexwren fucked around with this message at 13:53 on Jan 30, 2019 |

Watched this recently and explains that it was basically Lars' fault and the producer wanted to make a separate mix that he thought sounded better but it was too late. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmFgeFh2nlw

the funny thing is the guitar hero mixes with jason's bass tracks restored sound really good their original excuse that the guitar and bass occupied too much of the same frequency band was nonsense because it was obviously mixed correctly, they just cut out the bass https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zVGGK-MwtM
