Also, if you haven’t seen, facebook was up to some shady poo poo a year or two ago on ios and got an app yanked from the app store for redirecting all traffic through facebook servers. Facebook, undeterred, changed the name of the app, then enticed teenagers with the promise of $20/month or something dumb like that to sideload the app by using facebook’s internal enterprise certificate. Then they routed all iphone traffic through their servers. Yesterday apple and the public at large found out and apple canceled their enterprise cert for TOS violations. This meant that 100% of facebook internal apps such as development versions of instagram, facebook, messenger, whatsapp, etc. no longer work. Further internal apps like their cafeteria menu also have ceased to function as a result. Apparently ios devices are the primary internal facebook devices so everything has ground to a halt.

Even if you do have good insurance and can afford it they make everything loving impossible to do here. I just got back from the doctors office due to a persisting cold / fever. He drew up a bunch of labwork papers for blood etc and I take them to the front desk to check out and get the blood done while I am there. Receptionist: "Your insurance doesn't cover doing that lab work here, you'll have to go to another lab" (my insurance plan is given by the by far largest employer in town) Me: "Uh ok odd, what lab would that be?" Receptionist: "Any one that will take your insurance" Me: "could you help me out a little here, a lot of people you treat have my same plan" Receptionist: "There are a couple of labs around the rotary I think" (vague highway structure a mile away) Me: "Do you have a name for any of them? I just need to find directions" Receptionist: "No sorry, but if you just drive over there and look you can probably find one" Me, running a 103 fever, driving around randomly while its 3F outside and windy as gently caress. Great job all. This is the quality of healthcare a real job and insurance plan gets you. I mean at least I don't risk bankruptcy while being treated like poo poo.
