Wayne Barnes' attitude of 'gently caress it they're not paying me enough to blow the whistle' is an inspiration to me rn.

Yeah I mean I think generally France played quite well but just some absolute howlers in there.

HappyCamperGL posted:That was seriously loving retarded that pass. Worse than Anscombe's against Ireland last year No idea how we won this game. It was a weird, oddly compelling combination of Wales being poo poo, France (mostly) playing well and Wayne Barnes doing whatever the hell that was for 80 minutes.

France are still France, Italy are still Italy, but I've still got a sneaking feeling England will come out and make a good go at things in the next one though. Confident enough that Ireland will get a win if Murray and Sexton do their usual job, but with the world cup on the horizon I'd almost rather see Ireland go behind and dig themselves out of it.

Scotland doing their best to proper Scotland this up
|
# ? Feb 2, 2019 17:01 |
What a loving retarded ending. That could have been a 30 point margin win, but instead they did their very best to complete gently caress it up. loving morons.

Easy but sloppy. Not what you want to see.

Scotland really went to sleep in the last ten minutes, should be a good game v Ireland next week.

Well that was a pretty good start

The wrongfully called back Hogg try really messed up momentum. If he scores that, I reckon Italy get a hiding and not three tries.

This is a very tough game, be interesting to see how the sides are in the last 15/20 mins.

# ? Feb 2, 2019 18:34 |

Tough call that, great first half though
|
# ? Feb 2, 2019 18:34 |

England looking good tbh, bit unlucky for Stockdale on that second try but fair play to England chasing those sort of balls.

Naughty sweary Irish man

Ireland have done nothing right and the ref has been fairly laissez faire. Not a good day

# ? Feb 2, 2019 19:31 |
|
Well then
|
# ? Feb 2, 2019 19:34 |
|
Fair play to England here, they are really chasing down every opening they can get
|
# ? Feb 2, 2019 19:34 |

Wow. England have made Ireland look completely ordinary. Slade's been outstanding in defence and attack.

Shows how fragile Ireland really are, when Sexton and Murray have an off day there's not much else to rely on. Fair play to England though the best team won.
|
# ? Feb 2, 2019 19:36 |
|
England have been really good, strangling Ireland who have no answer to it.
|
# ? Feb 2, 2019 19:39 |

It's also clear England researched the poo poo out of Ireland and tailored a game plan to negate Ireland's approach. And you know Hansen is furiously taking notes as we speak.

Vagabundo posted:It's also clear England researched the poo poo out of Ireland and tailored a game plan to negate Ireland's approach. Yeah, Ireland couldn't get anything going on attack. In tight the blitz shut them down, out wide there was always cover, and England's backfield positioning must have been strong because a kick through never looked like a good option. England also did a great job slowing down the rucks and lying on the ball to slow it down. They got punished in the first quarter but not after that. Rugby is weird, how can these teams be so variable in performance all the time. Balance is clearly critical and adding one or two pieces at the international level can be all you need. English players being exhausted after the lion's tour also probably played a major factor in their 2018 performance.
