So, while both our countries are turning to absolute dog poo poo, we got way too many alt-right / neo nazi groups on our side of the Atlantic. Would you kindly just take Charlie Kirk and the entire TP org? I know it may seem like a lot to take on but Charlie's face is extremely tiny, so space shouldn't be a concern there.

the lines between alt-right and vanilla conservative activist have become blurred in the trump era, particularly for younger activists. any americans under 30 getting involved in GOP politics can basically be presumed to be down with the racism frog. not a ton of young campus conservatives fired up about the estate tax these days as todays college republicans start getting into mainstream state and federal politics in the next few years you're gonna see some pretty wild poo poo

SKULL.GIF posted:Was reading this earlier today, does this generally ring true to youse UK goons? quote:How did Remain voters become effectively disenfranchised? Why is the lunacy of what this country is doing only apparent to foreigners? Answering this question is not hard for anyone who has read my book The Lies We Were Told. What we have that foreigners do not is a public discourse shaped by a handful of newspaper proprietors who just happen to be intensely hostile to the EU. Partly through intimidation by that same press and their political allies, the BBC follows this discourse. This is where the “will of the people” came from. It was this press that puts rebel Conservative MPs on their front pages, and that uses language like saboteurs and traitors. It is intimidating MPs in order to influence the democratic process, but of course few in the media call it that.

I was looking up voting demographics for the 2016 ref and noticed that most of the strongly pro-Brexit areas can be found in sort of a triangle stretching very roughly from Yarmouth to Birmingham and then again to Scarborough. I've only ever been to London and Manchester and have no idea about how England looks like in this area. Is it super rural, or a post-industrial hellscape, or very poor, or very rich, or what is going on? Also I found this: Kinda weirded out by a slight majority of British Jews voting for a campaign driven in large parts by the hard right stoking xenophobic sentiment, but at the CoE going hard Brexit. I guess that correlates with the rural/urban split?
