The only thing I don't like about Apex is that itt it's kinda lovely design to have players start with no weapon or ammo and have to find one. It over-emphasizes memorizing the map. Just because everyone else does it doesn't make it good

I beat Half-Life 2 Episode One  I think I enjoyed it more than the main game cause it didn't feel as disjointed. The story was a lot tighter and even though some levels had specific themes they never felt gimmicky the way the main game did. The train station Strider chase especially was so dang fun.

Played some Apex Legends, didn't enjoy it much. Most matches seem to be either die before finding a weapon or spend 15 minutes wandering around with my squad, occasionally plinking some enemies at a distance, then die in a 15 second firefight. I guess that's not really novel for the genre though.
