I made an animated loop for Loopdeloop. They give you a theme and you have to make an animated loop in a little over a month's time. And you get nothing back for it! It's great! I took the alien king animation I posted earlier and added some stuff around it to fill out a short loop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPhY_tYCau8

oh poo poo, the new Mystery Skulls music video is live, and it's the best one yet. If unfamiliar, give the Ghost, and then Freaking Out videos a watch first. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN_Kbltsqx4&hd=1 The five minutes the video lasted blew by in an instant. Ben's animation skills have skyrocketed since the initial animation that made him popular and hooked him up with the Mystery Skulls team in the first place, The Turntable Turnabout. Really my only complaint is it takes him about two years per video, but considering he animates them almost entirely himself and they're animation studio-quality works, I'm fine with being patient for them. That said, if he worked with more folks to make them quicker, I certainly wouldn't mind!

I have no clue how he bends the christ out of modular synths like this. I've built my own modular synth setup and have found it hard to make it do anything but sound like the universe farting at times.

Here's a bit of history for you all. In 1983, a group of twelve people got together to create an animation for the intro of a long-running Japanese sci-fi convention being held in Osaka that year. They managed to finish it on the very morning of the premiere at that convention. It is one of the most famous animated shorts in history, and is responsible for the creation of one of the most successful anime studios of all time: GAINAX. The short is called DAICON IV, for the convention of the same name. If you can think of a sci-fi, fantasy, or comic book property from that era or earlier, it probably makes an appearance in this animated short, and it is a hell of a ride, with some of the most impressive hand-drawn animation in spots I can think of(most notably, the cherry blossom city scene). It moves at a breakneck pace, and most of it is set to ELO's Twilight. Due to the bombardment of licensed properties and the unlicensed use of Twilight, it will likely never see a full official DVD release. However, it is an important moment in animation history and an incredible tribute to sci-fi and nerd culture, so I hope you enjoy! DAICON IV Convention Intro Video There is a fellow on youtube by the name of Mother's Basement who analyzes all sorts of facets of anime and manga, and did a fantastic breakdown of just what makes this short so drat good. He points out a few moments I kinda glossed over. Melodysheep, well known for their musical tributes to deceased heroes like Mr. Rogers, Steve Irwin, Robin Williams and Bob Ross, also does a line of songs called Symphony of Science. dude what worked on the curiousity rover made a massive fart spray-splattering glitter bomb trap package that auto-records footage in all directions and uploads it to the cloud for the people who were stealing packages off his doorstep https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoxhDk-hwuo&hd=1 I would have preferred powdered glass honestly but that'd be a bit more illegal than a glitter bomb so glitter is the next best thing since it's just a prank and is impossible to truly get rid of ever. Even going the extra mile for the Home Alone reference is a beautiful touch.

I cried at this video. So much happened to this poor girl and they still did everything they could for her, it's really amazing the lengths they went through, a full eight months of treatments, surgeries, and recovery. Christ, the first shots really looked like there wasn't much they could do for her, but the vet ranch people are great. Video is censored, but they also have an uncensored version(they always make one, mostly for up-and-coming veterinarians to watch and learn from) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UJ4wE5wm3E&hd=1
