Tiny House & Chevy C10

My partner had a request: a minifig scale, fully functional tiny house. They wanted a lofted sleeping area, painted siding, and a wood-colored interior. They also wanted it to open down the middle, dollhouse-style. So I made one! And then I decided it needed a truck to tow it around, so I built a 1970 C10 with the custom trim package.

It features a kitchen with sink and microwave, a bathroom with toilet and shower, stairs with built-in shelving that lead to the bed, and a table with chairs that stow on the wall. The exterior features painted siding, gas and battery power, and folding wheel chocks to hold it in place when it's not being transported. They also act as supports for the half that folds open.

The truck (pictured without hitch) is a relatively straightforward build. I'm happy with the shaping and color blocking, but my favorite detail is definitely the small body panel gap between the cab and the bed.

Any chance of making instructions for this, either free or for a fee?

1. I like to be able to provide instructions but it's super time consuming, so no promises on anything soon!
2. I may start selling instructions through Rebrickable or something for a small fee (like $5-10?) to justify the time it takes to make them.
3. This is a pretty fragile build! I tend to go for form over stability so be warned!
4. Thanks so much for even asking! It's very flattering.

so have you tried approaching bricklink to make this into an actual set

I could go for a set like this rather than some massive building

You should shove some colorful 1x2 and 1x1 tiles into the empty slots under the stairs, and then offset them slightly to make it look like a book shelf.

For models of that size, you could break it into parts and take photos of the individual sections. I think it's small enough that you could figure out how to build it from photos without too much trouble.

I think the US is dumb for not using Celsius
I was able to figure out how to build that miura just from a few pictures. It doesn't have to be step by step instructions. If someone really wants to build something, they'll figure it out.

Yes, I love this idea! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it work. The spaces formed by the extant panel pieces are actually to small to fit even a 1x1 tile, and if I recess them, I would have to remove a hidden brick that's helping hold the wall up, so there would be a cost to stability as well.

I really don't mind making the step-by-steps, it's just a little time consuming. I like the resulting clean, approachable presentation. Just would be nice to make a couple bucks for the time investment. I think there are probably enough people out there willing to pay ~$5 for some car instructions.

In addition, apparently these are priced at $15 instead of the regular brickheadz price.

Seriously, Lego can just go and gently caress off with this kind of bullshit. I thought the "regionally locked" sets will not be a thing any more after the 90s, but apparently not. At least for the Chinese new year sets there is some reason behind it, but this is just complete bullshit.

I would have bought the Lucy brickhad, but it's not so imporant to me to want to pay some crazy markup to a bricklink reseller!

EDIT: I was right. The lowest price on bricklink is already at $60, four times its regular sale price.

I have some notes.
I, as I'm sure many of you were too, was pretty disappointed with the DeLorean set released a few years back.
With my total lack of skills making cars (but inspired by Carbohydrates' amazing 6 wide vehicles!), I've tried to keep it close to lego scale, but still get the boxy angles and low profile of the car.

It won't seat two, but it will take Doc and Einstein just fine.
Yes, I know that's the wrong number plate, but I like it better.

Picked up Voltron and the SF Skyline at the Lego store today. It feels like the San Francisco Skyline is the first one that feels like a cohesive design versus just a bunch of landmarks in a row.

I just built that one yesterday, and yeah, I really like that it's basically a little diorama. I'd like to see more skyline sets done in that style. Nice build too.
