The conversation has sort of moved on, but I'd just like to point out that Touhou is a colonial isekai, except it's told from the point of view of the natives and they all think the colonizers are idiots who don't understand what anyone needs and only ever gently caress things up. Although if you look at the series through a racial critical lens it's all sorts of hosed up too. Edit: Although it also has the Greek goddess Hecate just come in out of nowhere as the voice of reason and explain that immigration is actually a very good thing for a nation's culture, and also btw Hell is literally just unchecked capitalism.
