It might have just been a skill test thing (like Blade Wolf in Metal Gear Rising) because facing him later, even in a 1v2 fight, was less taxing. Also to be clear the fake fight in the story mission is pretty easy, it's the duel that completely wrecked me. I would say it was comparable to Lady Maria/Orphan of Kos
