Right, but that's different than someone who is Jewish being legitimately uncomfortable with the language used, but still supportive of the message.

I typically think it is a good idea to listen to people and consideration of their discomfort is not inherently a bad thing in itself. I feel like both AOC and Omar did a very good job of that.

Honest question, did anyone actually see any change in their tax rate over the last year? I was curious and looked back at all my paychecks, and *shockingly* they are unchanged as far as taxes go.

My income is a bit weird, but I made quite a good bit more last year than the previous and still got more back as well. Though I can't easily say if my effective rate changed because my taxes aren't as simple this year as they were last. I'd have to go looking, and it's after 9 and I've got a scotch and my Pax at hand, so I'm not going to. I think I actually did benefit, though. By just a little.

Basically everything McConnell is "trolling" about is just a distraction from the hundreds of fascists he's putting on the federal courts. That is the only thing that matters.

Yeah, it's this.

McConnell can't bring the GND to a vote in the senate because it doesn't exist in bill form yet (and even if it did, would have to start in the House for procedural reasons). In the event that the GND is actually written and actually makes its way out of the House, McConnell will refuse to bring it to a vote and deny that he ever said that he would, because being a shameless liar is who he is and what he does.

McConnell can bring a non-binding bill expressing support of the GND to a vote in the senate, the way he did for M4A, but Democrats can vote against it by justifying it as an empty Republican ploy, which it will be, and no one will remember by the next time Trump says stupid things.

Okay, I'm sure there are some folks who are truly offended and maybe even feel persecuted, but they are not worth bothering over and coddling their feelings does not take priority over the lives of innocent Palestinians.

Seriously, any conversation with such people that, even for the sake of argument, validates their feelings of antisemitism, is playing right into the Israel lobby's hands. You just have to tell them they're wrong. You can explain why, if they'll hear you, but that's it.

Nah, criticizing politicians taking money from lobbyists isn't racist/bigoted no matter who it is.

I mean why are we even investigating Trump-Russia collusion, clearly it's an anti-Orthodox slur to even mention it right, we should never mention it again if an Orthodox Christian says they feel legitimately offended on twitter

When Trump’s campaign began he was ratings gold as people tuned in en-masse to watch either because they wanted to laugh at the circus fire or because they liked what they heard. So TV networks were excited about Schultz because they figured that he would be a polarizing magnetron like Trump was.

They were wrong.

I'm telling you, progressives are missing one hell of a golden opportunity to reach out to the gamer Community right now. Between the merciless destruction of the entire concept of what a video game is that has accompanied the rise of microtransactions in conjunction with vulture capitalism decimating several beloved gaming companies in the last few years- gamers are much more willing to listen to arguments about regulating capitalism than they would have been five years ago.

Like the current WoW expansion literally sucks rear end because it's no longer I'm massively multiplayer online game, it's a single player manipulative casino game that you play along side of a bunch of other people. There's no Community left to speak of in World of Warcraft, everything that isn't a raid can be pretty easily soloed by rolling your face across the keyboard no matter what class you are, instead of interesting content they release literally hundreds of additional mounts, there is no true power progression in the game now, it's all been reduced to an RNG loot box grab bag, etc etc I could go on.

Like, the hardcore Gaming Community right now is currently absolutely beside themselves over what gaming itself has become over the past several years. We are now seeing AAA $60 single player games selling microtransaction XP bonuses, with the game intentionally designed to be repetitive/grindy without the purchase of the do bonus.

This is a video of the top World of Warcraft streamer watching an excellent little documentary about how Electronic Arts pioneered the particular style of loot box in its FIFA franchise that has since gone to basically destroy AAA gaming.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWMfzkJh1ds

I really do encourage people to watch that video even though it's 40 minutes long. Understand that this guy is basically a borderline chud with tons and tons and tons of chud followers/supporters, and he is growing completely disgusted with capitalism.

While a potentially good idea, there's the unfortunate circumstance of most gamers, or the ones you're trying to influence in this scenario, deciding that another major problem, or perhaps THE major problem, is "SJWs" infecting their industry and creating censored and neutered games or outright promoting leftist ideology into their games. As much as you come about the evils of microtransactions and other similar company policies, some of them will never think leftism will be a solution, and may consider it a trap.
