Anecdotal, but the only people I've heard say anything nice about him IRL are disillusioned trumpers. It may not work out the way he's planning.

Prosecutors listed Roger Stone's case as a related case to the one against the 11 russian hackers that broke into the DNC, Podesta's emails, and the Clinton server. Stone's attorneys filed a motion stating the cases were unrelated and he should be assigned a different judge. The special counsel's office and prosecutors in a short 6 page filing allege that they found direct communication between the hackers, wikileaks, and Roger Stone. In fact, the investigation into the hacks is what led them to Stone in the first place. Roger Stone is hosed.

Stone has been chatting with Donnie regularly over the last couple of years. So a little different than Manafort who got cut loose during the campaign. It's not the mattering even though it should be.

When I was a kid my family lived in France for a few years, and some of my favorite memories was zipping around the countryside on the TGV. I just looked up some ticket information out of curiosity. Paris to Marseille (about 500 miles) takes under 3 and a half hours and costs like $50 on the weekend (half that on weekdays). That's like going from DC to Boston, or San Francisco to San Diego. It's loving criminal that we don't have something like that here.

Speaking of Manafort, the recommended sentence from the prosecutors, since he violated the agreement, is between 19.5-24.5 years.

I costs almost $50 on the 70 mile Amtrak route from Milwaukee to Chicago. Although I'm not complaining because that's probably some of the best train service between any two cities in the US, sadly.

I'd be cool with trains, because riding the train up from Naples to Rome in a little over an hour for ~$25 was pretty loving cool. It's amazing what you can do with developed infrastructure. Trains are mechanisms powered by socialism so it will never happen, pump more money into the Koch brothers pockets

I did the DC <-> New Haven run a bunch of times in the past. If I did it with ~2 weeks notice, a round trip was about 120 bucks. It took 4.25-4.5 hours each way. Driving all-time best record was 4.5 hours, in the middle of the night. Tolls each way are approximately 40 bucks. I would have to get gas once. So at least for me, taking the train was faster, cheaper, and required no effort on my part.

Fallom posted:A ten hour drive is like an hour and a half flight though Depends though, if you aren't super close to an airport and the closest one is busy then it's say an hour of driving and parking, another 2h of waiting for checkin / security, 1.5h of flying, then tack on whatever your distance from the airport to final destination is. Yeah it's still going to be less than 10h but maybe not quite as bad. For me if it's like 6h or more by train or driving then I consider flying instead. Otherwise, gently caress that.
