A former people smuggler now living in Pakistan has been asked by his former bosses to return to Indonesia and test a future Shorten government by finding passengers willing to travel on boats to Australia. The bosses, he says, have grown wealthy sending refugees to Europe, and are hoping to send a surge of boats to Australia to test Labor's resolve. - I don't believe these people actually exist. Now with Morrison out of the picture, nothing can stop me. Nothing! Mwahahahahahaah!

What do Hanson and Palmer think of each other? Are they going to feed votes to each other in the worst state? Neither of them can keep a party going longer than five minutes, or manage their teams. They’re also both huge dipshits, so maybe they’ll just tear each other apart to limited effect.

bowmore posted:so the UAP votes come from LNP and One Nation voters, shockere Forgive me if this is a stupid question: So angry racist conservative feels let down by the LNP, (for whatever reason), and turns to Pauline or Clive. Statistically, would this person's preferences go back to the LNP in a "Anybody but Labor" style mindset, or would their anger, and teh reason they changed their primary vote make them preference the evil Union's puppet party ahead of the fuckwits they are angry at for whatever reason? Does it depend on the person, or is there a statistical/historical precedent? Again, sorry if this is a stupid question.

BrigadierSensible posted:Forgive me if this is a stupid question: My thoughts is it is disaffected people that didn't want to go to the Greens / Democrats at the time. They would have come from both Labor and LNP as the base of both Labor and LNP is primarily conservative people (conservative as in people that don't want their life to change too much, just get a bit better) - the main goal of Howard at the time of One Nation was to pick up the ex-Labor disaffected people and at the same time to try and retain the LNP disaffected people which he seemed able to do for awhile. I don't think much as changed, the disaffected are more likely to preference their old party but are up for grabs for the major party that can give them the attention they want.
