12 February 1945 Clearly Grey redacted this day to avoid the sting of HMS Delhi, an AA cruiser, getting an explosive motorboat up the stern in Split, Yugoslavia. This is another one of those survived-but-not-repaired situations. Very embarrassing. Also, HMS Venturer torpedoed the German minesweeper M-381 off Kristiansand North, Norway. 13 February 1945 Corvette HMS Denbigh Castle took a torpedo hit in the bow from U-992 in the Kola Inlet. The ship was beached but washed back out and sank. German own-goal: minesweeper M-421 ran over the defensive field at Kolberg. 14 February 1945 USS Gato torpedoed Japan's escort No. 9 near Jeju.

This guy is still sailing around. Dammit! They have a carrier in my supply lines again! I'll need to resupply my own carriers before going to clear the supply line. But their pilots are more skilled than last time, so I may have a chance of getting some hits in. I have to go for it at least! At least they are cheap!

15 February 1945 The Italian battleship Conte di Cavour, not then in service, is sunk at Trieste by USAAF aircraft. Conte di Cavour had been sunk in shallow water during the Taranto raid. Sufficiently refloated to transfer to Trieste, repairs were halted to concentrate on other warships and remained incomplete when Italy surrendered. The Germans then seized the ship for potential use as a blockship. gradenko_2000 posted:gonna be funny when OpenlyEvilJello runs out of war records to publish and Grey is still prancing about with the KB sinking all sorts of poo poo Six months and a week until we get there.

This is a random strike. Curse you! There are just to few of them for my massed planes to hit properly! No other signs of that carrier. They could have been land based I suppose. The carriers are back, but I'll give them a bit more time to replace losses and see how the situation develops.

16 February 1945 USS Sennet torpedoes the minelayer Naryu south of Honshu. Tanegashima is just south of Kyushu. That's a hell of a place for Allied ships if the report's accurate.

The spotting reports that show up in that little feed during the turn are often very inaccurate and seem to routinely ID friendly convoys as enemy ships. There's some level of filtering that goes on before a spotting report from that feed shows up on the map as a contact.

17 February 1945 One ship in the Bonins: escort No. 56 torpedoed by USS Bowfin. Two at Trieste: German torpedo boats TA-44 and TA-41 (ex-Italian Antonio Pigafetta and Lancia) hit by the RAF. Two near the Kola Inlet: Sloop HMS Lark hit by a homing torpedo from U-968 and stern lost; towed to Rosta and turned over to Soviets, who recommissioned the ship post-war. Corvette HMS Bluebell hit by a homing torpedo from U-711 and blew up, probably from the depth charges going.
