They're not going anywhere while they still make the companies shitloads of money, I think EA is still refusing to acknowledge the Belgian law with FIFA card packs and even that ruling was worded in such a way that companies could work around it. The key language if I remember right was that their definition to bring loot boxes under the gambling laws was that the contents had to be exchangeable for cash, which is a narrow enough definition that you could probably get round that with a modified EULA saying you may not trade in game items for cash through third party services.

I'm very interested in what they could do with a other Darkest Dungeon. It's a strong foundation if they can reign in the tedium that bogged down the good parts of the first game.

Darkest Dungeon was a lot of fun, just the combat was painfully slow. I hope Darkest Dungeon II speeds that up by default instead of relying on the community to do that. The game was only playable on Steam due to Workshop integration.

I played the first one in Early Access and enjoyed it but never jumped back in after hearing people complain about the grindiness of the game a lot

Radiant mode cuts down on the grindiness a lot without making the actual combat any less difficult, but I've heard people still complain about it there so I dunno. I never had to grind in either of my playthroughs, I was always progressing and doing new things.

In Apex news, i spent an entire day figuring out how to get gyro working with the pro controller. Turns out, the steam mouse joystick emulation literally slows down the games performance, meaning I'm stuck using just basic 360 functionality. Which is why gyro needs to be embraced by MS asap. Funny enough, after hours of trying to get everything right with gyro, my first spiteful game after that discovery was a win carrying the rest of my team, so whatever.

I don't remember people saying this about MKX though which is odd, because that was the first game in the series with good costume designs for the women characters also kind of loving weird that in a fighting game primarily about gore people really need those tits out
