I just found out due to scanlation drama that the original Baki is missing 100 scans, like Chapter 203 onward god drat it

So will later episodes of this arc have more of the titular character in it? I feel like all he did the whole show was make out and get owned.

I got reminded by bit where Muhammad Ali Jr serves Yujiro his humiliating defeat, and I can't stop thinking about the timing of Ali peacing out, leaving the room, going down several floors, exiting the building, and blending into the crowd, and Yujiro, a genius who can dodge bullets and run down cheetahs, realizing he's been owned and Ali is gone.

Yeah, they just did half a season at once because presumably that's all they had localized so far. Anyone know when the second half will be out? I went back and finished the original anime and now I'm jonesing.

They've always teased at Yujiro doing that, and now they've straight up just done it. I'd call this unrealistic, but I think the opportunity for that has long flown out the window for other more insane reasons.

# ? Feb 16, 2019 20:17 |

I think any final semblance of realism in this series went out the window around when they introduced the thawed-out caveman.

Fun fact, this series has never been even remotely realistic It basically started with Baki fighting prehistoric apes and training by throwing himself off cliffs. The fun comes from the mix of grounded setting + completely cartoonish over the top characters doing their thing there

Baki will be considered realistic until they add a female fighter

The original few arcs of Baki got really dark. The scene where Yujiro breaks Hanayama's arms and legs after his first fight with Baki is still one of the grosser sequences I've seen in a manga (and there is plenty of competition). Then the part where Yujiro kills Baki's mom and Baki starts carrying her dead body through the streets. poo poo was really dark and deranged. There's a lot of untranslated stuff so I don't know what happens between that and the convict arc but certainly convict arc onwards is the silly Baki we're used to.

Did any group actually finish translating the Musashi arc?
|
# ? Feb 23, 2019 12:34 |
|
So what is the gimmick about this one, since he's not a clone like musashi? It's kinda feeling like he's either a god or some forest spirit. Hopefully he's just a big burly sumo man who just kept to himself while becoming super powerful.
|
# ? Feb 23, 2019 15:15 |
|
I mean, why does he need any excuse other than that? There's plenty of Baki characters who are superhuman monsters because they trained a lot and REALLY like hurting people.
|
# ? Feb 23, 2019 16:46 |
