With the Clausen Marshall news? I do really hope that we see more short track teams, drivers at the speedway in May. Think in the vain of Ron Hemelgarn, Stan Fox, Rich Vogler, The Bettenhausen's and Vukovich III. An underrated cool moment of the 2016 500? Bryan Clausen staying out a few laps to lead the "500". He knew he couldn't win it, but he was just...excited to be leading it. Crowd cheered when the loud speakers pretty much announced that.

eh, I'm much more in favor of bumping and pole qualifying being on the same day so I'm cool with this I'm also in the same boat as Robin Miller in that I prefer everyone starting if there are like 35 total entries or something

Yeah this is still an improvement. It eliminates the fuckery of "is there enough time" and "OMG SHE'S WASTING TRACK TIME" when you put a fixed limit on attempts. The race-trimmed practice the same day is a bit odd since there's going to be 12 cars that are going to have to be re-trimmed from qual to race setups pretty quickly.
