I have zero faith in Deniro and Pacino, and I have absolute faith in Martin Scorsese.

So, I expect it to be bad.

The budget is actually closer to $200 million now and from what I've read, they weren't totally prepared for how difficult, money and time consuming the digital de-aging would be.

Here's a recent interview with Scorsese's long time editor and you can read between the lines that there might be some troubles ahead. But I'll take an ambitious failure over something generic and safe. And it might be great, who knows at this point.

It worked pretty well in both Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 for Michael Douglas and Kurt Russell, respectively. Though those were in short doses.

They were short scenes, and based on a very particular age of the actor. The Scorsese flick is suppose to take place over decades of these characters lives. It's kinda insane, and is likely going to be a trainwreck cause the last tech heavy Scorsese flick was Hugo and that was a big pile of nothing.

It did fine in Tron 2 because it was imperfect. Clu was a digital copy of a real person, looking creepy makes it better.

Agreed, except the first time you see it it's of real life Jeff Bridges saying goodnight to his son before disappearing.

That was just a straight CGI double right? Not the actual de-aging CGI that is used now (and is pretty good) which augments the real footage.

Bridges could not voice-act a younger version of himself successfully enough, though, and I feel like modern day DeNiro and Pacino are even more incapable of channeling their younger selves.

If you go by the Pokedex entries, some of them are pretty creepy. Wearing its mother’s dead skull? Acting like a hobo? Kidnapping children? Stealing your soul? There is a Pokemon for that.

I really want to hate Tron Legacy but I just can't. It's obvious that Kosinski and crew were really trying, and that all the actors were really excited, the soundtrack is dope, and for all its cheesiness there are some really cool moments.
