I immediately went to the dean who thankfully took it serious and sent someone out to check all locations to take them down (outside of the one I took down myself). i do a lot of thinking about this and there's no clear or easy answer. i opt for "bin the poo poo immediately" and not make a big deal out of it. the question i think if you publicly address it, is you have to ask what's the next step after publicly addressing it. if there is no next step then it's better not to do it. i have seen cases where publicly addressing it has been beneficial but this was done by organized groups using it to generate more energy for ongoing campaigns focused on racial justice. like, flipping the nazi propaganda around to pressure an institution into directing more resources into addressing racism (way to go nazis!). but the campaign to pressure the institution was already underway before the flyers popped up. in other cases a nazi group would be putting up so many flyers, like dozens of them, or dropping banners off a university library during the morning rush, so organizing a response is just required. but most of the time it's stuff like this with a few tacked up on a post or on a bulletin board. i'd encourage left groups locally to organize clean-up squads. basically if your area is a frequent target, have one person or a few who can spend a few minutes per day looking at the group's gab account to see where they're putting them up, and then having the squad go out and clean them up. should be careful here as well with more dangerous skinhead-type groups, since there's a chance they will lie in wait to jump people. i have not actually heard of this happening so far, but you gotta be prepared, and that seems like it might've been the case in boston recently where those three P.F. guys were arrested wearing masks and carrying knuckles -- they returned to the area they had flyered the day before. There have been some incidents in the larger town but iirc they were from different groups. The only upside of addressing it would be if others have seen the flyers, feel intimidated by them, but do not feel comfortable bringing it up. In that case I could see value to strongly signal disapproval. Then again, this place (please don't doxx me, though my life is fairly boring) is definitely perceived as fairly liberal, so I am sure the aim was more to trigger the snowflakes rather than tap into a huge pool of possible new recruits.

there was a swastika on a street lamp near me and I just kept covering it in stickers. Someone kept removing the stickers but I kept putting them there until someone sanded the swastika off. That's my Nazi graffiti story, I hope it is enlightening and useful

i perceive that a lot of college towns are in a situation where there are a lot of liberal locals who live in close to the university surrounded by a ring of methed up nazi townies (at least that was the case for where i went) and then you add in extremely young newly minted pepes living on campus and you get white supremacist activity

It's so weird here (Australia) to follow threads like these and see posters up around the local Uni protesting Gavin McInnes and Jordan Peterson. What's really worrying though is some have been scratched up and people have put (much tinier) "It's okay to be white" stickers up. Those have thankfully also been defaced.
