I do have REMake1, and I've put a bit of time into it, but again, I didn't get very far before dropping it for something else. I also have RE4 and RE Revelations 1, which I also need to play.

I'm not sure how to react to this. Slow, strained artificial laughter, perhaps. I was genuinely unprepared for the battle music, or for the substitute song used sometime around the 20 minute mark. Who DOES this? Who has the time to do this??? Hahaha. Pardon me, HA, HA, HA.

They sound autotuned because they are literally being played as a musical instrument. All the information on tone and pitch and speed is already in the MIDI for the original instrument.

Like any other instrument definition for MIDI playback. It's the most basic way to do things (for extra effort you would instead, say, choose one laugh for low notes that get tuned within that, then it goes to another laugh for higher notes etc as much as you want, or even have a different laugh recording for each valid pitch without any pitch-changing).
