I haven't had much trouble with delves but I did have sorcerer pets to back me up on the early ones and was in at least my teens before I started doing them. I'm not sure how templar soloing compares since I haven't played one past level 4 yet. Hey man, Yeah I got through fine. My ult did some serious damage then I just cleaned up. The gems definitely came in handy for one of the daily quests (which I can't do, even two of us couldn't move the health bar) I am still getting to grips with combat basics if I'm honest, trying not to flail around like an idiot. I'm almost level 13 now.

Ward Ally is the preferred way to go. The caster and the lowest health target get the ward, and it gives you a chance to heal a target up fully if they took some spike damage. I would use ward with a Nightblade or Dragonknight healer, and possibly a Warden if you are just starting out with one. Rapid Regen is still a good skill, but there just is no bar space and there are better skills to slot. Sorc does not need the resto ward cause they have TITTY BIRD. The heal from that pet rivaled only by Breath of Life so you already have a super strong burst heal. You really want to focus on layering hots (springs), keeping combat prayer buff down 100 percent (also a hot), and keeping orbs in the group (also a fantastic heal). cast wall on a boss if it is not immune to off balance, and ele drain everything elite and above. Thats about the size of it. For normals, non DLC vets, just do whatever. For the newer DLC vets and trials, you want to keep hots up and watch for spike damage. Unfortunately most of the newer vet dungeons have one shot mechanics so there is no amount of healing that will keep stupid DPS from dying.

I believe master writs might only come from filling daily writs at max rank but surveys can come from anything, its like the whole point of doing writs on alts.

Surveys drop whenever you don't get a shipment. There's some RNG but this is regardless of skill rank; the only thing that will vary is the shipment or survey itself, as far as these items are concerned.

I have a ton and I've only just recently hit 50 in the skill lines to echo what everyone else is saying. Though whenever I got them I just put them in the bank cause I didn't know what they were so I have about 25 to go through still.

The surveys can be got at any level, and you can bank them and use them on other characters. The level of the mats you get is based on the level and the crafting skill of the character who uses it, so you can get a bunch of them on your lovely low-level dudes and use them all on your max-level crafting expert to stock up on high-level materials. The other side of this, possibly not as well appreciated, is that you can use them on your lower-level characters to get large supplies of middle-tier mats which are actually a lot harder to find. Stacks of max-level stuff are a dime a dozen, but you can go broke trying to get enough mid-tier stuff to level another character's crafting. It can be good to sit on a few of those surveys so you can quickly stock up on whatever thing you need at the moment.

Nah tce is crap. 200 per crown, then broker fees are high, and the suppliers themselves are total poo poo for the most part. They try to present themselves like a business, getting into agreements with guilds for skin selling, achievement selling etc and I just find that too tryhard. I got my stuff from WCE which seems like a much more relaxed crown trading guild.

Never heard of WCE, but if you can buy crowns at 150g/crown ratio more power to you but that does not change the fact that 200G is pretty much the standard and Zeni fully backs TCE.

Wood Elves aren't as good at stealth any more, but became better at detecting stealth. Not sure if detecting stealth is of any use outside PvP but there you go. All professional thieves, pickpockets and burglars will now be khajiit, which is fine. The patch notes go into a bit more detail. https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/454456/pts-patch-notes-v4-3-0 I do like that they add explanations of their thinking in their patch notes, so even if you don't agree with a decision at least you can see their justification. Nice that we all got three free race changes out of the deal.

I've wound up sticking with my stam sorcerer for now, although I'm still a pretty low level. The game is clicking more. How are stam sorcerers? I know to play what you think is fun, but I don't have much frame of reference yet. Can they be decent at soloing/self sufficiency? Or is a templar probably better for that? Probably sticking with the sorcerer either way since I've invested a little time in it now. Still in summerset, thinking about staying here to finish this zone, then going and starting the main quest for the story, or is that better to do right off the bat?

Probably sticking with the sorcerer either way since I've invested a little time in it now. Still in summerset, thinking about staying here to finish this zone, then going and starting the main quest for the story, or is that better to do right off the bat? I'm only a month into the game, just hit level 50 (champion 30) on my dunmer sorc. I went magicka for Stonefalls and Deshaan then respecced to dual wield stamina for Shadowfen and Eastmarch. I think I'm going to do The Rift with 2h and heavy armor then call that part of the game won and swap to a different char for other areas. My experience is magicka is a bit better at soloing due to the healing pets but it did feel slower with the reliance on spells over melee. With the clanfear and matriarch I was able to solo things that otherwise gave me trouble, like dolmen bosses without help and the questline bosses in Crow's Wood. While doing the public dungeon in town in Eastmarch, I had to swap both pets back onto my bars for the healing and tanking against the quest bosses in there. For regular questing though both are good so it is only a matter of style and which you prefer. The negate magic ult, especially once you morph it, is pretty good for locking down a huge clump of non-boss enemies, it just builds a bit slower than other class ults. I saw a big breakdown that said what order to do things but I don't know that it is necessary. If you are a big lore fan maybe do it in chronological order, otherwise go wherever looks fun. The one thing I have noticed is npcs can be carried from story to story and might recognize you for extra dialogue. I know I've seen the khajit guy from the start of Summerset also turn up in the Dominion starting zones, and the dark elf Naryu just gave me a bunch of extra advice in Eastmarch because we were already friends from Deshaan. I hear she shows up in the Morrowind expansion as well. That said my friend is having a blast with the game playing an orc in the orsinium DLC and a khajit nightblade skipped right to the thieves guild DLC, flat out ignoring the main stories and areas. They are a challenge at low level but he loves it.

Stam Sorcs are great at doing stuff solo and living through it while pumping out really nice AOE damage. Once you have Crit Surge and, especailly, if you PVP for a little bit to get Vigor, you're gonna be able to take a whole lotta poo poo while you do damage. While a magicka templar is basically the king of self-healing, stam sorc is the best stam spec for doing kind-of the same thing. Also nah, go ahead and do what you want when you want. Doesn't matter. If you're liking Summerset stick with it.

I am new to ESO and really want to learn how to tank because it means near instant queue times for dungeon finder. So far my character is level 17, I have 1 light, 1 medium, and 5 heavy pieces equipped. Do I want to use a 2-hand or 1-hand/shield for tanking? And I guess the thing I am most confused about is what skills to pick.

1-hand & shield on your main bar. The single most important skill for all tanks is Puncture, which is how you taunt enemies. You should morph it to Pierce Armor for the Major Breach debuff.

And I guess the thing I am most confused about is what skills to pick. Maybe not what you expect, but I'd say don't start learning how to tank at lvl 17 - the dungeons at that level will barely give you much trouble and you will not get proper tanking practice. I'd say level up as dps till cp160 (whilst making sure to level tanking skills), then start your tanking practice full-time (with backup dps build). Start off by queuing tank on normal dungeons, then move onto vet vanilla dungeons - and finally onto vet dlc dungeons. Once you start to get the hang of tanking inbetween vet vanilla-vet dlc, start joining pug normal trial runs (Craglorn etc are always looking for tanks). As for other stuff: Can either go 5-1-1 or 7 all heavy (both are viable for tanks). Need 1h/shield front bar, back-bar can be 1h/shield, destro staff, bow or even 2h depending on what you are tanking. Skills to prioritize - pierce armor (taunt), igneous shield, green dragon blood (instant heal depending on your hp left), inner rage (ranged taunt), unrelenting grip (chains to pull creeps in) and warhorn (bis group buff). Then you can go onto other skills which are very good to run; heroic slash, engulfing flames, overflowing altar, blockade and magma shell. To be honest, by the time you reach cp160 you will have learnt everything on your own (even though you will lvl as dps if you follow my advice). They're going to drag this poo poo out literally forever, so there will always be another chance to get tickets. You need 4 feathers for the base mount, 4 berries to "evolve" it which replaces the one in your collection, then 4 more feathers to get another base mount, 4 more berries to turn it into a different colored one, and so on. There are 4 "evolved" forms they've announced so far. It will take y-e-a-r-s to get enough tickets for a complete set, it's one of the craziest weirdest grinds I've ever seen in an MMO. But short answer is don't worry, you'll get another shot at the berries. P.S. The scientist in me gets very irritated at such flagrant misuse of the word "evolve." Individuals don't evolve, populations evolve! That's metamorphosis god dammit!
