One time I listened to an Extra EA-300 in the traffic pattern whose tail number ended in EX. It sounded like they were practicing tongue twisters every time their call sign came up.

Many 4 digit airline flight numbers that I use these days are a lot more annoying... but nothing, I think, compares to Canadian GA planes that have all letters to say. I only heard that a few times, and oh man! Screw that.

Worse than that is when you have aircraft that are off by one letter, or aircraft that end with the same letters in a different order. A nearby flight school, catering to international students primarily from China, has C-GGPP. I don’t know whether they hate us or their students more. Exway risky mike is not my favorite either, but it’s a great example of how resilient the phonetic alphabet is to inevitable fuckups. PT6A fucked around with this message at 07:17 on Mar 4, 2019 |

All that ballooning and airship talk and not one mention of this: Monty Python's Flying Circus S04E01: The Golden Age of Ballooning Wherein the Montgolfier Brothers are more concerned with bathing than ballooning, and a Glaswegian toughie impersonates the King of France.

I had a funny airplane registration story happen to me many years ago in college. I borrowed a 172 for the day to go to an airshow with the mark C-FDAJ. By the most incredible coincidence I can imagine, C-GDAJ happens to show up at my destination at exactly the same time I was arriving, and wouldn't you know, it was also a 172 as well...caused more than a bit of confusion for the five minutes we were both airborne.

Hey, that's the plane I did my PPL flight test in! Was that when Mount Royal still owned it? It's still around Springbank but it's currently owned by SATC, along with FWPV.

Trainee PornStar posted:As someone who knows nothing about this stuff. I'm not an expert, but it looks almost certainly like a total loss. You can see what appear to be bits of engine flying out the back, and given that they had thrust reversers on to abort takeoff within about 3 seconds, they must have had an immediate indication that the engine failed, which suggests a catastrophic failure. I've known engines to eat something like a sparrow and be okay after an inspection and maybe some minor repairs, but usually in those cases the engine is able to keep running. If it dies immediately that's not a good sign.
