That's an excellent article btw- very evenhanded on his accomplishments, though it significantly undersells him in a number of ways.

I would offer that being nice about it, even if the person in question doesn't deserve the accommodation, is likelier to facilitate follow up chances to correct them again (for some people, I'm not talking about devout chuds here) but it's a big ask for POC to take on. I don't blame any POC for not having the desire or inclination to sugar coat it, but I do find it inspiring when that does happen. IMO there is no group in the world as moral as American POC.
