also just have to say, everyone saying har har bet the libs wish theyd done pr now!! is dumb because the libs don't think one election at a time they'd be infinitely happier to lose this election, boot trudeau, be in opposition for 4-10 years and then get majority governments that let them grift the country again, than be stuck in a situation of permanent minorities and coalitions

The loving institutions here love running to the media and pretending they're providing some valuable service and not just acting as an apparatus for collecting money. I don't understand how they're so hard pressed when in the past two decades they've been striking deals to get insane numbers of foreign students to pay exorbitant tuition fees without really expanding the campuses or programs. U of M especially, I went there in around 2010 and they had a huge influx of Chinese students who were paying honest to goodness 10x what we paid. So they were seeing an insane amount of extra money from existing classes/dorms. Where the gently caress did it all go? Not to mention Red River College pretty much successfully tanked Manitoba's apprenticeship program, and instead of getting a job and having your employer pay for schooling after so many hours, you have to pony up 10g's to do whatever Intro to Trades horse poo poo they've come up with. Kick out some of the loving failsons skimming salaries off the top and problem solved.

It's because the schools lose funding so they get more international students so the government sees that they can cut more funding so they get more international students so....

What's cool is that a whole bunch of universities have greatly increased spending on staff, but greatly decreased spending on faculty. Now, faculty are staff, which means that a poo poo ton of money is going to an ever-increasing range of middle managers and Assistant to the Vice President of Golfing Trips with Alumni (Florida and the Carribbean).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_x1ARXiGWs&t=29m40s Reporter: Just to clarify, are you apologizing for anything today? Trudeau: Um, I'm making an Inuit apology this afternoon. This guy is a beast, a God. Ruthless and remorseless, he deserves two more terms. Unwavering. Think about that. When somebody asks them that question, the thought of doing anything wrong isn't even near his mind. His agenda is what pops up. He's a busy guy, let's let him get back to work making jobs. He's right about one thing, he has certainly dulled the appetite for electoral reform because this guy is just in a different league.
