This saturday, at 09 MAR, at 1900 UTC, we fly DCS. It is a training night! It has basic fighter maneuver training, and basic IR and SAM missile evasion. In addition there will be a fighter dogfight thunderdome where you can just have at it with air respawns. But goal is to have 1v1 opportunity for red and blue fighter to tangle so that a newbie can be shown evasion, basic maneuvers, and given feedback. We won't be using SRS or anything, but just discord channels. All those not currently evading sams or doing 1v1 can just dogpile on the thunderdome area. I want to reiterate that this is not a sign that we are becoming a virtual squadron where you get UCMJd for having your nav lights on in combat. It's just the chance to offer those who want to learn a bit more to be more effective. For those who just want to duel, there is dogfight thunderdome. If you want to read on the issue, the Basic Fighter Maneuvers article on wikipedia is great and offers a lot insight to the concepts, and if you never have dabbled into this, these pictures might clarify a lot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_fighter_maneuvers#Specific_energy Especially like combat spread and defensive split are extremely simple concepts that usually make all the difference in PvP matches and even against AI. I swear the HUD only shows 27 for the one type. I'll check tonight as my friend is busy so I can practice instead of getting sweaty in apex legends. Also got the 2080 in so I should be able to maybe hit 60 fps in game now lol

The Russians are unique in having long-range heat-seekers. e: which planes in DCS have some kind of MAWS?
