I know Erina is the most popular character in the series based on character polls, but goddamn, the last two arcs have basically been about Erina's family drama and it's extremely dumb. That Alice is her cousin seems like she's also be relevant in some way, but lmao.

Erina's lack of popularity early on is largely attributable to her basically being a background character for those early arcs. The anime also helped her I think

Still can't get over how bullshit this is. Cooking "superpowers" in this manga: - Super good sense of taste; - Super good sense of smell; - Two brothers working very well together, complementing their abilities; - Has studied ingredients carefully for many years so can bring out their best qualities; - Has studied the world's cuisine, can recognise where someone is from by their accent and behaviour, and therefore can cook perfect comfort food; - Spent years developing abilities and techniques in molecular cuisine; - Has an eclectic style of cooking and can perfectly blend different styles to fit the customer's tastes; - Absorbs their opponent's abilities by defeating them in a cooking battle. One of these things is not like the others...

I can barely even care at this point, we get a Megumi chapter and there's no loving food in it. Like, it's obvious the author ran out of actual food ideas long ago, just take this manga behind the shed already. I'm totally gonna ignore the "5 spice blends" poo poo only because it's pretty much the least offensive thing in this chapter, besides Megumi herself.

At this point I'm just left increasingly confused and wondering who this is for. Like OK, they pared down to the 4 most popular characters, I get that. Then they completely shafted two of them, reverted the characterization of one at a really bad time and it's just, like I don't even know anymore  . And it's for that one shipper that buys 8 copies of every volume I'm thinking the author's doing a pretty poo poo job of that too.The final tournament to wrap everything up is actually a perfectly fine idea but Asahi didn't need to be involved and it didn't need to be this dreck.
