What now? I'm assuming everything needs to get stripped out of the ship and replaced?

I mean I know almost nothing about ships but the hull looks like it's in OK shape once it gets cleaned/rust removed/repainted + repairing the damage it took. I thought I read somewhere that they wanted to restore this ship to service.

The hull might look ok now, but it's gonna have to be hacked up a bit.

One of the tiny Danish subs sank just after being refurbished for service in the fleet (they were old West German/Norwegian hand-me-downs) in 1990. It took 3 years to make it ready to sail again, but it happened.

They'll just park it out back somewhere and tinker away at it like a legendary Automotive Insanity megathread project.

Is there's seriously anything at all that can be "refurbished" on that ship? I was under the impression that it was pretty much 100% junkyard material after that much time submerged in salt water.

Life is all about priorities. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk126KImewc I like how he says "incoming where" and doesn't react. Hence why nowadays the incoming alarm actually tells what area/sector is under threat so people don't ignore incoming alarms on decent-sized FOBs. Supposedly recovered in Idlib.
