Presumably it's assumed a business TV is going to broadcast to the public, making sports packages way more expensive. I'm sure the provider has to pay more licensing fees and the demand for sports on your business TV is going to warrant higher monthly premiums.

Kinda yea, it's based off the expected viewership, and a business cable plan could be broadcasting to an entire office of footie fans on a big game day. It's also why sports packages for sports bars are retarded expensive, they're more or less a captive market, so why not gouge them?

I'm planning to build an experimental system that will hopefully replace our ancient Casio POS terminals that's running on XP and 512MB of ram. Would any touch screen monitor work as long as I find a way to secure it to keep it from shaking when pressed? Or is there a feature I should look for specifically?

I've got a Fortigate firewall running two wans, our offsite connection is a vpn going off of one of those wans. I'm getting a 1gb p2p installed, should i put that on our core switch, add the route to the route table on the switch and then change the route on the firewall to point to the switch? I'm thinking if i just run it on the firewall directly i can saturate the internal link (between core switch and firewall) briefly during replication. Thanks!

We currently have a helpdesk/building maintenance ticketing/incident reporting system that kind of sucks but if i'm honest, serves our needs, but the problem is that it's based Access . . . and Access 2010 to boot, and it doesn't seem to play nicely with anything newer than Access 2013 and we're going to probably go to office 365 within the next year. So what internal help desks are you using? Just need a place to make a computer help desk, building repair tickets and incident reports, where the people who are assigned those tickets don't see each other's tickets. I'm not opposed to using three different solutions for this if necessary, but all of these I look at seem to take the shotgun approach of doing a bunch of things.

We went from Spiceworks for Freshdesk and I'm happy. The only thing I don't like is how you can't easily set reminder alerts to go off for your group. If we need to do something, like set up a conference or something along those lines, I don't want to miss it because someone is out and I don't want to have to babysit those tickets. There's a couple other oddities but nothing too bad.

I'm working on a Spiceworks to FreshDesk migration right now actually. One thing I'm missing is Checklists. We have a lot of on/offboardings of staff, and a sizeable checklist for each one. In Spiceworks I can auto-assign a checklist template for a given ticket type; but there doesn't seem to be an equivalent for Freshdesk.

Real quick on Zendesk: it's super easy to use but it's ridiculously expensive and also if you don't subscribe to The Zendesk Method of Customer Service then you have to do a bunch of stupid poo poo that will make it not as easy if you need to compare freshdesk (which I also recommend) to other things, take a look at happyfox and mojo.

We use BMC Track-It (formally Numera). It was good now it's bloated and slow. They dumped the version we are on and are doing the worlds slowly deployment of something browser based. We still can't migrate because some of the features we use are not implemented yet. Maybe at the end of 2019.

Freshservice here. It's expensive but works well. Migrated away from Track-IT a couple years ago after that out-of-support install started self destructing. All of our FTEs have an agent license, but our helpdesk is staffed by part-time students. We have a single agent account they share and that's probably against TOS, but only one person is using it at any given time soooooo

Agreed Anything that doesn't have dogshit hardware, a good warranty, Windows 10 Pro, and takes part in AutoPilot Yeah if you don't have any special requirements like people who use CAD Try Teams and their room hardware, it's really good I don't struggle to get people to join Teams meetings externally, maybe look at Videxio to bring people into your Teams environment I hate phones so getting somebody else to do them is imperative Xero but this is going to be country and industry-specific Keep an eye out for MS Virtual Desktop when it launches, HTML5 client integrated with existing Azure AD logins Freshdesk is nice Yeah this is sane

email/calendar/etc - Office 365 end user hardware - don't really care as long as they're all the same vendor and that vendor isn't Lenovo file storage - OneDrive im and internal video conf - uhhh honestly my experience is almost entirely with Cisco so I'm not opposed to WebEx Teams external video conf - fine we'll do WebEx phones - we're already buying everyone a laptop they're inevitably going to cryptolocker, might as well give them an iphone they can make homegroan with accounting - not a bean counter, don't ask me legacy database that has no easy saas equivalent - VM in Azure, RDG to that helpdesk - anything but spiceworks, and not OTRS unless it's my helpdesk and I'm selling them a juicy MSA for five years huge archive files -
