I think you can once qualifying starts and your picks are locked in, that's how most fantasy leagues work.

Not deploying the safety car when there was a tractor crane on the outside of a high-speed corner in heavy rain

edit: I am of course talking about Interlagos 2003 where it took forever for the safety car to come out and Schumacher almost hit the crane
