The Ultimates had a ton of dumb poo poo in it but I really liked Stark giving Natasha her own armor. I'd love if the movies weren't as slavish to the comic continuity and were more practical about "yeah I'm not going to let a bunch of my friends run around fist fighting people in street clothes when I have super advanced tech"

it's not even a comics continuity thing, i remember widow having some electro gauntlets thing. i thought they would've introduced them in the movies by now

There's probably a "who is this person and why should we trust her" scene like with Vision in AOU, hence everyone doing big ol' intense staredowns.

Usually picture lock just means they're not changing the edit any more. They can still update the VFX right down to the wire - I worked on movie a few years ago that delivered final VFX shots the weekend before the premiere.

Though for the most part when it comes to trailers, usually we just get a list of what shots they want to use, and then scramble to figure out how to get them up to a usable level in time regardless of how far along they are.

She did have like tasers on her wrists at some point(Was it Civil War?). Again, kinda useless against anyone that's not human/close to human.

I'm surprised at how many people are excited for End Game all of a sudden. The overwhelming opinion of Infinity War was that it had an incoherent storyline due to Thano's motivations not making any sense.

A lot of people really liked Xfinity war and are looking forward to seeing the conclusion of the storyline with Fios

Similarly most people I know irl are saying Captain Marvel is pretty good but almost no one actually wanted it instead of seeing Endgame this month, it's more of a nice surprise or a "well I'm not doing anything else today" thing. I don't know anyone who wants to keep watching Marvel movies after it though we probably will anyway

In general, almost every villain has a motivation that doesn't make sense. That's typically why they lose. Also you are forgetting the fact that everyone and their goddamn mother comes out of the woodwork to talk about how much smarter they are then the purple alien man. People fuckin LOVE being smarter than someone.

That wasn't my feeling at all. Maybe that's how it was on the forums but in general Infinity War was very well received. They pulled off a CGI villain and actually gave him a personality, something that was definitely not a forgone conclusion, and it ended on an extremely effective cliffhanger. I'm not surprised at all that the followup is highly anticipated.

I guess it's diegetically impressive that Larson knows how to distinguish between computer generated images and real objects when none of the other characters do, but that really says more about Thor than it does about her.

Right, if you watched most of the Marvel movies up to this point AND you watched Infinity War in theaters, you are almost a guaranteed seat ticket. What kind of crazy person stops right before the last episode of the season? What's interesting is that they've somehow managed to make the cliffhanger formula work whereas when it happens in other movies (Hobbit 2 comes to mind) it just pisses me off.

Iron Man 2 showed that there's definitely a market for people in flying supersuits. Given the timeline of the MCU it seems like a bunch of different countries should be rolling out Iron Man prototypes by now. It's been a really long time since Iron Man 1.

If Stark and Pym weren't so stingy with their tech, Earth in the MCU would probably be well on its way towards transitioning into a Type I civilization. Probably Type II actually.
