I think I saw a calculation the other day that said that the points for fastest lap only would have mattered once in the last dozen years. It was that season that Hamilton won the championship by 1 point.

Whenever I start to feel down about being a Mclaren fan, I just think of Williams and think "Well, could be worse". I do hope they sort themselves out, solely because of the goon that works for them.

Out of curiosity, I looked up how far Manor was off the pace in 2016. Their qualifying times were about 4.3 seconds slower than Hamilton's Q1 time, and 1.3 seconds off the next slowest car (well, technically only 0.021 off Esteban Gutierrez's Haas in 20th, but Gutierrez doesn't count). I'm not exactly a fan of Williams because who the gently caress is a fan of Williams, but it's still pretty sad to see them like this.

They probably would have, but the 107% rule wasn't used when Super Aguri was around. It didn't get reintroduced until 2011. edit: Ide was eight seconds off the pace at Melbourne in 2006

Tried to make a gp prediction league, but the site is down and the app only sporadically works. Maybe the league is there, maybe it isn't. Looks like they won't make the start of the GP. It's like the williams of websites at this point.
