I’d say it’s a superficial take; he’s been doing shoddy undergrad-level stuff like this ever since he worked for Klein at the Post. Not always, but too often.

The argument goes that there was nothing else the cops could have done, and like every time cops murder a bunch of people it was all the victims' fault and they deserved it. The idea that going guns blazing into a building full of children was not actually necessary, and they could have just surrounded the place and waited for them to come out like they did in the Oregon Wildlife Refuge, is of course dismissed as wimpy liberal pantywaist simpering.

Saying you condemn "all hate" in response to a white nationalist massacre is kind of like an inverse "good people on both sides" statements. It's " bad people on both sides". It's like if a cop kills a black woman and you say "I condemn violence in all forms, all lives matter" And Lightning Knight is right, all of the Democratic responses are going to be as bad or worse. Doesn't mean you don't call it out.
