I had to pause from laughing after the kid whose mom "only celebrates Bastille Day" excitedly says "I know where we can get some baguettes" and then the cut to Marge going through Homer's purchases from the previous scene, and when I unpaused it immediately got me again with "heheh. this baby's sure to kill somethin'!"

the comedy is just so dense! MAN, what a good show.

:(

I'm not watching it but doesn't he buy poo poo like condoms, laxitives and liquor

the good thing about the show going digital is revisiting the old episodes and seeing what beautiful jazzy (and outright funny) animation I had taken completely for granted

I will not shut up about the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I talk about them all the time and work them into every conversation I have. I built a shrine in my room for the yellow one who died because sadly no one noticed because she died around 9/11. Wanna see it?

All the classic era Lisa episodes are great. It wasn't until later when they made her a preachy mouthpiece for the writers.

The animation where Marge turns around when bringing in the Tang and rice krispy treats is exactly what the people who do the show today could never do so perfectly even if it meant their entire careers. the way she flips around is just insanely right, talk about understanding a comedy beat.

a thing of beauty that's probably never coming back. whatever korean shophouse and american editors were doing seasons 3-9 or whatever really were something special

It really isn't a preachy episode though. She doesn't change anyone's mind but her own. It and "The Old Man and the Lisa" are probably the worst Lisa episodes of the classic era though.

Obviously they couldn’t have the Simpsons become rich but Lisa not taking the money always felt dumb/not funny to me.
