The fascinating thing I started seeing were people making characters and bots for Salty Bet. Whole lotta different programming philosophies mixed where an elegantly crafted meltyblood reskin win by dancing around a screen of projectiles and finding perfect openings and a simple bot could just do a point of chip damage and float off screen. Victory was always unpredictable. Best cockfighting experience a person could morally participate in.

The first guy running VGCW stepped away for job/life reasons I believe. Someone else stepped up but also stopped for similar reasons after a few years I think. And actually there was another league, EDBW, that also ran for a few years before ending. Looking at the youtube channel the last VGCW episode was in 2017. The audience left pretty dramatically when the original VGCW showrunner stopped doing it so it could have just been a time investment/return thing, even just in terms of community. VGCW had a lot of work put into its writing, crafting the plot scenes, and editing.

it also didn't help that they kept looking forward to new games in the series for better functionality (especially PC versions) and not only did the later games not work as well but they completely removed the basic systems that the vgcw shows relied upon

Re: Saltybet Chat Making a saltybet betting bot is a really fun programming exercise. Salty puts little effort into protecting against that sort of thing since it's all made up money. I fell out a while ago but I was close to cracking the Top 10 for a while.

Internet is crapping out but in the few minutes i've managed to get of this i've seen a close up of what appears to be a demonic crotch and a foot long dong asking me to make a "DOOMSDAY CLICK" while the options "STRENGHT, DEXTERITY, CHARISMA, BODYBUILDING" are displayed, a man riding a gigantic chicken into battle, what appears to be the grimdark empire from that Riddick movie, a skeleton in a dress with the dress looking like a cross between an MS paint nightmare and a technicolor rave, and what appears to be a horde of revolutionary war dressed Ork's from Warhammer 40k about to light some stuff up with some dakka. If it ain't satire then the person has a few marbles loose. Edit: And yes, it's spelled "STRENGHT". That wasn't a typo. At least, not on my part.

STRENGHT gives +1HP per level and allows you to use bigger armour, melee weapons, and machine guns. More critically, it qualifies you for useful skills such as Bodybuilding, Grenadier, and Melee Brutality. Bodybuilding affects how badly your equipment weight slows you down, and raises your HP by a percentage of total, seemingly to a much greater extent than a few points of STRENGHT. So STRENGHT is super important primarily because it allows you to be a bodybuilding melee grenadier. I think I've seen items that require like 60 strength to wield, too, which is basically unheard-of by Mount & Blade standards. (I made a dude with 15 Melee Brutality and was atomizing people for 200+ damage per hit using a sledgehammer)

The author is not kidding when he describes it as "psychedelic" though. Ironically, the Beautiful Female model is actually loving terrifying, because it's just a skinnier female model wired up to the same animation skeleton, so whenever it moves around too much it turns its arms into a horrifying flesh pretzel. I burst out laughing the first time I saw it. e: oh yeah I forgot to mention: zombie heads are equipment. You can just loot a zombie's head and wear it and then you have a gross zombie head with a hole in it.
