When I think about groups that stopped existing by choice, like the Shakers, I don't feel any sorrow, only relief. You see no Shaker Holocaust, no Shaker terrorists, no Shaker hate crimes, only Shaker furniture. Maybe the real racism is convincing groups that they need to keep existing for some bizarre sort of greater good.
