It’s not a bad goal but any footballer with situational awareness knows the chip to the back post is always on.

It's one of my pet-peeves having watched a couple of rugby world championship games where the ref is mic'ed up the entire game and kept on with the commentators, though at a much lower volume, and piped in everytime something interesting happens. They also take it one step further and put a go-pro on the ref so you can see the fight for the ball during a scrimmage. I can't fathom why it's not more used in football since it clears up a lot of confusion and let's you know what the ref is seeing and thinking at the time of a call.

I love it when the mic catches the coach shouting instructions. Would be nice to hear more of what gets said on the pitch.

Some good things did happen under van Gaal, the crazy fucker. :allears:

I actually thought it was the wrong decision to fire him at the time and should have at least got another season at the club. He believed in youth, Rashford had just broken through and Lingard was back from injury, there was no reason to think van Gaal wouldn't have had them in his plans.

I like watching Serie A matches with English commentary or Prem matches with Italian commentary because you get to hear all the swearing by the managers and players.

I think there's already too much of a focus on what the referee/linesman/VAR does and micing them up would just exacerbate it to point that postmatch discussion would be even more an exercise in hyper-analysis of their decisions rather than the players or managers.
