Lucy Diamond and the DT5 team is headed to Burgas Bay to setup for the boot show. They showed me some cover literature and it looks neither tactical nor urban, but whatever, they said if you throw tactical into something it sells 900% better. Who knew? We've gotten reports of a J-7C group moving in to our north. Rumors are that baguette sales have spiked in ROMARM territory so possibly Mirages as well. It's likely we'll run into either, if not both. Ambiguity due to script possibly launching one, two, or multiple threats.

Right! Voting is done. Round 1 shows no clear majority. Round two shows a tie between the top two contenders. Round three brings the winner, Great Burgas Reef. Just to note, 'Splice the Mainbrace' did get votes, just not as the first choice, so it was not counted in later rounds. Yooper fucked around with this message at 13:40 on Mar 23, 2019 |

Aiming to run the Operation Great Burgas Reef this evening. Flight crews have finished pre-mission checklists. We think the SAM systems are still hidden (we disguised them as ice cream trucks on the way in). Arsenal AD has some OV-10's patrolling in the north with F-5 cover. They will be kicking off shortly before we do. DT5 is in place with a select few cameras covering our east. https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20190324T2040&p0=4910&font=cursive This will be an absolute 100% departure from what we're used to. It's like a bumfights for planes. In testing I've seen entire flights of Mirages dogfight and not gain a single kill. It's epic.

My next procurement request is going to be a panamax container ship. Just think about all the goodies we could put on it! Probably no VTOL planes, but plenty of helos and a great counterpart to the Tokyo Bay Fortress and Underwater Bote.

There's that, or we could always go the Ace Combat 7 route and just have the ship carry a bunch of drone launchers

YouTube video is uploading : Will be here -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7u_DKRJ25GE What was a war of F-35's, cutting edges munitions, and cyber-sleuthed Gibsonsque hackers is now a fistfight in an alley between two half drunk frat boys. The reality of the PMC world is slowly dawning that this is no longer a place where precision munitions swat planes from over the horizon but a place where bare knuckled piloting swings through at close ranges. The world sat up and watched as two groups engaged each other at near technical parity*, something not seen in decades. But this sort of engagement is not without it's issues. And it's one that we as an organization need to recognize and deal with. One of our Mirage 2000C's, an F-16DG, a MQ-9B, and most notably, Big Pig. Big Pig ate 3 Sidewinders** while the F-16DG's blasted in to support, but alas a 30mm cannon burst finally struck him from the sky. To add insult to injury, our air units were all either RTB or landed as the op was wrapping up (or so we thought). Then a ROMARM strike mission came in on the Burgas Refinery only for the escorts to swoop in. In another rather buttclenching moment, the S100B evaded two missiles. I believe we expended more chaff and countermeasures in this mission than ever before. The OverKill of the day award goes to Whale-Psychosocial and Peanut. They knocked out 5(?) ships: 3 mine layers, a patrol boat and an LST. Our employer is quite pleased as this has secured the main depot and prevented ROMARM from opening a second front. But as you can see, low intensity conflict is continuing with assets like the Arsenal AD Bronco's and ROMARM SU-17's hunting for targets. It's hard to hide a depot when people are complaining about it on Instagram. Our work here is far from done and hopefully we can make a difference in opening up a line north. Lucy Diamond reports that the photo shoot, and show, went well. Jack was found the next morning, passed out, on the beach, seems he poured the libations to BigPig right into his mouth. As the flight crews refit the aircraft we now have two options : OPTION #1 : Rebarkovo Pass Bulgarian Armor and Infantry have had an opportunity to dig in near the town of Rebarkovo where Highway 1, 16, and 161 all meet. This is the most immediate threat to Sofia. There is known Olifant tank presence, artillery in Darmantsi along with what appears to be a SAM site west of Mezdra. We also have reports of a large armor service area very close to the front lines. This is unique given the intensity of the fighting and seems very out of place. GOAL : Provide CAS to Bulgarian / Arsenal Troops. Knock out artillery. If possible recon the depot, otherwise destroy. Provide support to the Monastery Field Hospital. OPFOR : Olifant Tanks. Mobile artillery. AAA. WVR SAM system. AIR : Expect units from the Seattle Supersonics to be operating out of Gabrovnitsa 38 NM from the AOO. The Supersonics may provide both CAS and / or air superiority. OPTION #2 : Gorna Strike Retreating Bulgarian forces were unable to detonate the runway charges at Gorna Airfield. ROMARM air units are using this as a FOB to stage strikes on supply units moving through Bulgaria. ROMARM has good air presence in the east and west, but this single air base is relatively isolated and could be struck before reinforcements come in from either flank. If we know it, ROMARM probably knows it, and this site is likely well defended by AAA and SAM's. Judging by the road traffic complaints on instagram there is a large quantity of heavy barreled AAA in the area. ROMARM has been rotating air units through so we don't have a good idea of what exactly to expect. Reports say the strike aircraft was sloooooow. No word on escorts. We've run into an issue, and that is how exactly to beat an enemy when he can just purchase more planes? So far we think removing qualified pilots is the best way to do it. GOAL : Strike the Gorna Airfield. Destroy airframes, primary. Destroy runway, secondary. Destroy services, tertiary. Opportunities to engage pilots encouraged. OPFOR : AAA. WVR SAM systems. MANPADs. AIR : Unknown. * Desert Storm maybe? But I think true aircraft parity may go a lot further back. Pre-Linebacker Vietnam maybe? ** Exact OPFOR missions that occur are random. Some will occur, but not all. There were several missions that didn't happen. This keeps me on my toes and keeps it interesting. Our opponent saw an opportunity to sneak in a strike on the Burgas refinery while our aircover was down. Unfortunately they took out BigPig in the process. It's possible we'll have a really difficult time with the Gorna mission. We'd have to equip our F-16s to A2G to get enough volume to strike an entire airfield and that leaves us with 5 Mirages to take care of all air. I just can't see us being able to complete the mission as outlined. We just don't have the right kind of assets for it. Even our SK-60s would be handy here, and we just don't have them. Rebarkovo Pass is probably fine as we can carry a large number of mavericks and still have a few brimstones. It can also be fought closer to friendly cover. Fewer assets that need to be knocked over to enable the mission, and a known A2A threat. TheDemon fucked around with this message at 03:33 on Mar 25, 2019 |

Yeah, erring towards Rebarkovo as our next op. Not only is it more manageable in our current state while we're in the middle of an asset flux, there's also the juicy juicy plot hook going on there.
|
# ? Mar 25, 2019 03:48 |

I'm definitely thinking Rebarkovo should be our next mission. I just don't think we've got the assets to pull off an airfield strike, while ground attack on AFVs and infantry is definitely manageable.
