For the sake of my own sanity I'm just going to go ahead and assume that Cornelia is a small doll modeled after an adult woman. Actually, is she modeled after Gepetto's late wife? Is she inhabited by his late wife's ghost? That would be kind of sweet, in a super creepy way.

Yeah the Magimel brothers are stereotypes but the game basically portrays them as nice, but flamboyant guys. It's not intrinsically cruel.

As for Cornelia, the game will explain it eventually. I don't remember how long it is until we get Gepetto's backstory but rest assured it may or may not help with the creep factor.

This is true, too. The comic quoted is a pretty easy joke -- for me, it was picking this game up in 2004 and having something close to the mainstream even referencing or discussing this game, a sequel to a niche game which was a sequel to an even more niche game. It didn't result in SH:C selling all that well, but it was nice to see coverage in some form.

Since that comic was posted, though, Penny Arcade has definitely become problematic.

But it's even worse than <genre> Movie parody movies. Like those might have the laziest "jokes" that are just referencing a joke in the original movie, but at least even they go the effort of recreating the scene. It's not just two guys watching a movie and explaining the joke that's happening on the screen?

Is there some kind of parade or costume contest going on today? But the weirdest thing was they were all lined up in a row, sitting politely and quietly. What was with those guys?

I love the implication that Lenny's goons were being rowdy out on the streets, so he scolded them all for bothering people and had them sit on a bench quietly somewhere. :allears:

I just love it when they're willing to let characters actually acknowledge their own strange existence/shenanigans and not just be "on" 24/7. They've got a puppet-wielding old man, having a dominatrix in our group makes about as much sense!

Shadow Hearts as a series, despite its problems with its portrayals, actually has a healthy gay relationship too; which is something that Post-Persona 2 P-Team has never done in nearly twenty years.

This is the first I've learned that Karin keeps her officer's uniform even after officially joining. I was kinda hoping that you could find it later and have it available as a solely cosmetic option since her regular outfit is definitely purely appealing to the lowest common denominator.

I think that Russell is supposed to have seen Lenny's group riding the Metro, or waiting for a train? I think those two people are talking about separate incidences. Also, "Nicole" is probably a girl; it's hard to tell due to the text box overlapping the model, but I think she's wearing a dress. And about ten, or at least significantly shorter than Yuri.

A sassy little girl scolding Lenny's group for being rowdy and him apologizing for it is just :3:. Also the idea that Lenny's group have just been politely riding the train back and forth the last two stations all this time, and hoping to catch Yuri and company, seems like it'd be in-character for him.
