Holy crap, people are taking the impending nothingburger of the Mueller report badly. Chapo will likely bring Greenwals back for a post mortem when it drops, but Mark Ames would be an even better pick.

I listened to ALTH for a long while and honestly can't see any parallel between the two beyond the broad strokes like "white guys telling bad jokes". ALTH is like if Stewart and Colbert's Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear was a podcast, but the only person they could find to host it was a former Fox News late-night comedy writer, who ropes his best friends into coming on out of either support or pity depending on your point of view.

Trashfuture and Boonta Vista Socialist Club are good listens for UK and Australian politics respectively, especially when they look into the media, as US pundits are small ball compared to those countries' godawful writers.

Trashfuture want to be UK Chapo so drat bad but the crew barely have any chemistry and most of their jokes are boilerplate left-twitter references so it falls flat most of the time try Reel Politik instead, they're an insanely low-fi production but they actually pretty good on picking up on the weirdest & funniest characters in the freakshow of British centre/right politics

It was interesting to hear boys be so candid about the future of the show. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Felix departed by the end of the year at the very least, but unless they really do have a creative second wind it is hard to imagine how they'd continue at all past 2020.

They were originally looking forward to their show being an irreverent critique of liberal centrism, and thought that Trump would destroy their ability to do a sarcastic, satirical show. So why should they run out of material when Individual Orange Turd Cheeto Benito Twitler 1 gets deposed? Sure, they could devolve further into Leftist Daily Show, but what's wrong with that? The things I find genuinely loathsome about the Daily Show and its dull-witted children aren't really a problem for Chapo, that I can think of.

I'm not saying Chapo absolutely will, but y'know it was Virgil who actually brought it up ... They just seem to be losing their passion for the show, especially since their US tour last summer. Will & Matt are still pretty up for it but the other three members of the show are basically part-timers now, and I think it shows with more and more middling episodes as time goes on. I hope they can get some of their earlier energy back but it's not hard to imagine the show running out of steam entirely in the future, especially if Felix does bail.
