Honestly surprised May didn't call out the Countach as a 70s car.

I like how the "outtakes' at the end of this last episode of top gear shows that they cut out all of the unscripted fun and personality so it didn't get in the way of the carefully scripted comedy.

I'm just disappointed that they didn't have Matt go round in the reasonably fast car.

I'm glad they are including Abbie in more things. This is a cool episode. I really like that 850.

Goddamn Jezza's eyebrows are out of control in this episode. It looks like he deliberately ran his finger the wrong way on them, they're all over the place.

Also, James usually dresses tacky as hell, but I want the shirt he was wearing near the end, the black and white one with birds and leaves on it.

That reminds me of a Bake Off clip I saw the other day where Noel Fielding had dyed blonde hair and a dark-and-light pink striped jumper, and it looked like he was cosplaying as James.

Georgia really looks beautiful!

And WOW Clarksons 'nastiest piece of work the world has ever seen' skit was amazingly funny but also sad.

The best part was seeing Abbie clip the wall and a bench while she was rallying that lovely renault. I was a little disappointed they did have her comment on that car at all.

I spent six months in Georgia. I've been to two or three dozen countries and Georgia was the most picturesque by far. It felt like a setting in a fantasy novel.

It was so nice hearing Georgian again.

actually, yeah, I am a little mad
I watch with the subtitles on, and it's a bit annoying that whoever transcribes it is not a car person.
This last episode, Clarkson talks about the turn-in on the Aston, and it's subtitled as "turning."
It's a quality issue for Amazon, imo.

Does the Sierra from the opening title sequence come up in some episode? I'm only up to the RV episode so far so I'm not sure I missed an episode or it just never made it.

E: drat, James totally got me with the Unboxing video. Haven't seen either of the other two, let alone any of the Instagram stuff

Did anyone notice Mr. Attwood wasn't wearing any sort of crash helmet? That was such a fantastic segment.

James didn't either when in that car, I believe. When it was James I figured "He isn't going that fast and maybe wouldn't fit with a helmet". But then when Attwood, who actually raced the car, did the same thing I was a little confused.

That ep was amazing. I was in stitches the whole airport segment.

I think the formula is complete. Review a neat new car, a historic car documentary and a travel bit.

The problem is when they do the 20 minute long segment reviewing something garbage like the new Panda.

Do we know if the new season is going to include any car reviews/car documentary/etc stuff, or is it really just going to be travel specials?

The best formula really does seem to be travel specials and old car reviews. Yeah, the new lamborarri is cool and all, but most people will never have one, and they can just do specials like the Georgia one where they drive around cool locations with the car. Yeah, the new car has a few more horsepahrs and they removed a cupholder and it goes around the nurburgring .4 seconds faster. Then you see one driving around town one day and say "WHOA IT'S THE THING!" Bleh, whatever. Reviewing old super cars and race cars that no one will ever get to see or drive otherwise is awesome. I saw a Mclaren yesterday and was all "Oh a Mclaren" but I would go fuckin nuts if I saw a GT40 or something.

Personal opinion, (and I know different strokes for different folks) but as long as they can intersperse some of the cheap car/stupid challenge stuff along the way I'll be content.

Yeah same here, I figured maybe it wouldn't fit in the cockpit or something? If that's the case I can't imagine they actually took the cars up to any kind of real speed, which makes me sad.

I doubt they actually raced those cars head to head flat out. And I don't think the gt2 would have a chance if they did.

Yeah, it felt almost like a sellout for May to make it seem like 1000kg is something that modern technology might be able to overcome.
What kind of rubber would the 917 be on, period stuff? If it's not brand new, I could see them not wanting to run for long if they heated up weirdly.

i think the gt2 probably had some legitimate advantage since it was a normal racetrack and not the le mans circuit. if they were on a track that let the 917 really stretch its legs (and if it was an actual race) I can't imagine it would have been close.
