I like running into Zaurg tidbits randomly on the forums. It's always someone saying "there's this one guy that's selling all of his bitcoins he bought with credit cards at a huge loss and he's taking a loan on the equity of his house to invest in Star Citizen." I ask for a link and inevitably there's zaurg posting about how good give bad advice. It's so much better than following the thread because trying to figure out how he got there is the best part.

I never understood the decision to modify GBS into...whatever the gently caress it is now. It was hit or miss but was a good place to put threads that didn't pigeon hole into other categories and it's usually the first place new visitors go to look around. I think the overall suckitude of the change contributed some to the drop of SA sign ups since a newbies first look would be all that stupid poo poo.

i dont get it still im not gonna lie. but then i just dont think ill ever get the in jokes is all. reason i ask i bought a few folks accounts and i suggested reading a few different threads and lurking a bit in any threads they intended to post in and not be a poster like me and post content. from a sagas point of view what would be the stuff you would suggest to read to kinda get a feel for the sense of humor. other than "your poisoned womb is crowding heaven" which i dont think would have flown in the current state of the forums

the sense of humour in each forum is different, and even within a shared forum threads can have a radically specialised sense of humour unique to themselves. the answer is always to lurk more or  , there is no in-between or best practice.
