This feels like the political equivalent of someone correctly identifying some engineering problems with an internal combustion engine but then instead of offering an actual solution just saying "therefore we should use this perpetual motion machine that I invented"

the carnation revolution is interesting in that it was a revolt by a pretty genuinely leftist element of the military. the closest you have to it i can think of only really happened in post-colonial nations ie Nasser, Gaddafi, Ne Win in Burma, etc but portugal was still an imperial state at the time. and then those same military elements attempted another leftist coup when it was clear the revolution was being coopted by liberals, which failed. theres not much else like it. that said its very weird to say it was the Only Good Revolution when calling it a revolution itself is shaky, it was a popular military coup by lower officers.
