The US Congress is even more gridlocked than this. At least our house actually sits and votes on stuff that could have an effect (albeit then every vote results in a resounding "No"). The US house of representatives votes for stuff and then a turtle man refuses to let the other house vote on it so it wasn't worth even having a vote in the first place.

i mean, the us senate is literally structured in a way that makes passing legislation with a simple majority nearly impossible.

like at least the uk's undemocratic upper chamber is largely stripped of real power.
