At least the good options are within striking range of getting passed--the confirmatory referendum is a lot closer than I'd have expected--but still. The US Congress is even more gridlocked than this. At least our house actually sits and votes on stuff that could have an effect (albeit then every vote results in a resounding "No"). The US house of representatives votes for stuff and then a turtle man refuses to let the other house vote on it so it wasn't worth even having a vote in the first place.
