That's because the corbyn surge lifted all ships, in London especially. Whoever is the Labour candidate will win in Vauxhall in the next election, barring an absolute catastrophe.

We just have to make sure that Hoey isn't the Labour candidate. The local party seem pretty on the case to be honest. The only way they won't deselect her is if central office prevents it, which would be a phenomenonal scandal in her case.

Here's an honest question: do these melts actually believe what they're saying? Do they know they're arguing in bad faith or are they so high on their own farts they've started believing their own bullshit? Because so many of them seem... just so, so self-assured despite spouting absolute garbage.

Don't really have an opinion on them because TBH if you're dealing with an environment that hostile your choice of DNS provider is completely irrelevant. They got pumped up during Arab Spring because of the exceptionally dumb and cheap way governments tried to block access to social media, which was in turn because of the very low levels of sophistication of their ISP market.

Third-party DNS already can't save you from the IWF child abuse blocklist at almost all of the major ISPs in the UK (although there are still very easy ways around them) let alone something like the Great Firewall of China, something that would be pretty easy and quick to implement in the UK (or any other country with a similarly-developed internet industry - the only uniqueness for the UK in this matter is geographical, the reliance on undersea cables means far bigger chokepoints to target).

Why haven't they deselected her already? Is there some rule that requires a GE being close first, or is there some other reason to wait?

I thought she could have had the whip withdrawn for her voting record alone, otherwise what's the point of a 3-line whip?

First they invited the socialists, and I did not get one
Because I was not a socialist.
Then they invited the trade unionists, and I did not get one
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they didn't invite the Jews
Because Jeremy Corbyn is an antisemite.

For the last 8 years they've had basically no pay rises, do you think those left behind are the best and brightest or just those willing to do whatever they're told to keep their job?

Interesting, Graun now has more on the Cooper-Letwin plan:

quote:

  • Cooper and her allies plan to use tomorrow, which has been set aside for a third day of Oliver Letwin backbench business, not government business, to pass another business motion setting aside Thursday for a debate on Cooper’s bill. The text of that motion will be out tomorrow. If it passes ...
  • MPs would debate all stages of the Cooper bill on Thursday.
  • MPs would also hold more indicative votes on Thursday.
  • The bill would then go to the House of Lords, where a majority of peers has already agreed in principle that a Brexit bill coming from the Commons should be considered as soon as possible.

It also shows the front of the bill, which shows cosponsors from Labour, Tories, Lib Dems and the SNP.

Reminder, his arrest for attempting to murder an MP was part of his grand plan to trick the policewoman investigating him for possession of CAI into entering the MP's office where he would shoot her... apparently freeing him of any and all suspicion?

I'm not really sure how his grand plan was meant to end but frankly I think the nazi boy might not be very bright.
