Bots on Reddit would be fine if they were opt-in by subreddit and/or summoned by user commands. And maybe if two or three of them were elevated to core functionality. The one that just direct-links imgur albums containing a single image should just be a thing that happens in-stream. Similarly, the one that just reminds people of a thread a few days later should just be a button on each post. Naturally, though, that would require pulling development labor off of slow and lovely aesthetic redesigns or staffing an administration that passes even the threshold of quasi-sentience required to ban literal neo-nazis and edge-case child pornographers, so gently caress you it's not happening.

I like how bpt says that this social experiment made people talk about racism and discrimination as it now affected those who usually discriminate themselves, even though it kinda looked like it didn't and those who got mad just got a lot more racist while spamming the most racist jokes they found on /r/unpopularopinion. Dippin Dots are like what if they made ice cream except with none of the wonderful texture, bland flavors, and a vehicle that makes it less satisfying to eat. It's a bad gimmick to sell more pointless poo poo to kids at baseball games and zoos.

Which I guess they see as the "lesser" of the two crimes, but you know most of the people angry like that over it are probably the same ones who will say it doesn't matter if a black man is killed by cops if they'd ever committed any crime, at all, in their lives. Also, Cardi B herself pointed out the double standard of male rappers getting to talk about their past crimes and violence without getting the same reaction, as opposed to the reaction to her admission of a criminal past. Also, all the comparisons to R. Kelly and Bill Cosby are pretty loving gross. Not saying drugging and robbing a john is a good thing, but it's no way on the same level as drugging and raping women, or kidnapping and raping children while making child porn of it.
